Image Acquisition example: In order to take a digital x-ray in Patterson EagleSoft with the Schick digital sensor, simply click the x-ray head in the virtual operatory screen, and Advanced Imaging opens. Select the correct image template and acquire an x-ray.

The Interface Solution

While direct integration has evolved to become the preferred choice for many dentists, under certain circumstances you may wish to use the digital product vendor’s proprietary software. Patterson EagleSoft accommodates this choice in two ways: we offer both a high level interface (also known as a bridge ) and a high level AIM interface (Application Interface Manager bridge).

With the high level interface, images are acquired and saved in the digital vendor’s proprietary software, not in Patterson EagleSoft . You store patient information and records in Patterson EagleSoft and digital images in the proprietary software. There is only limited (one way) sharing of information from Patterson EagleSoft to the vendor’s proprietary software.

The high level AIM interface is included with any Patterson EagleSoft purchase as part of the software. With the AIM bridge, a set of specifications is provided to digital product vendors, and those manufacturers can alter their software to pass basic patient information from Patterson EagleSoft to the vendor’s proprietary software.

Image Acquisition example: In order to take a digital x-ray in the Soredex Digora software, click the x-ray head in the virtual operatory screen, and the Soredex Digora software will launch. The bridge will typically pass the patient’s name and ID from Patterson EagleSoft to the proprietary software. Follow the vendor’s specifications to acquire an image.

Image Acquisition example: In order to take a digital x-ray in the Planmeca Dimaxis software, select Activities | Application Interface Manager | Planmeca. The Planmeca Dimaxis software will launch. The AIM bridge will typically pass the patient’s name and ID from Patterson EagleSoft to the proprietary software. Follow the vendor’s specification to acquire an image.
